Seetharamaiah Gari Manavaralu (Telugu: సీతారామయ్యగారి మనవరాలు) is a 1991 Telugu Drama film directed by Kranthi Kumar.[1] Akkineni Nageswara Rao played the role of Seetharamaiah, where as Meena played his granddaughter Seeta.The film was show cased among the Indian panorama section, at the 1991 International Film Festival of India[2].

This movie is a remake of malayalam classic "Sandhwanam" directed by Sibi Malayil in 1991. Meena made her malayalam debut with this movie along with veteran Kannada actress Bharati Vishnuvardhan. It is remade in Hindi language as Udhaar Ki Zindagi in 1994. Kajol played the title role.

The Plot

The plot revolves around an Indian family with close family relationships shot in a village near Godavari river. Seetharamaiah (ANR) is a landlord in Sitarampuram village. His wife Janakamma (Rohini) and son Srinivas Murthy (Raja). There is differences between the father and son regarding his marriage. Unable to deceive Sumathi, Raja marries her and left the village. After a gap of 25 long years, his daughter Seeta (Meena) arrives in the village to attend to marriage function. Though Sitaramayya did not like his son, he used to like his grand-daughter, but could not express openly. Janakamma used to openly express her love. Son-in-law of the family (Bharani) and Veerabhadraiah (Kota) wanted to marry their sons to her. Meanwhile friend of Srinivas Murthy (Muralimohan) comes to the village and informs them that their son and daughter-in-law died in a road accident in America. How the death of a family member was kept as secret and resulting fine nuiences in family relationships are shown very decently in the film.
